A Very Long Day

We're on our way, 14 hours in an A380, to Dubai, and another 4 hours in Mr Boeing's 777. It's a long way, but at least in two of my favourite aircraft, excepting the 172, of course.

I read somewhere, that Airbus called their new very large airplane the A380, because, on average, passengers try 380 ways to get comfortable to "sleep"; bit like saddle positions on a long bike tour.

Both flights were full, so the service was slow. From Dubai, we had to divert north of Syria, where we saw extensive snow covered mountains.

Between the vast areas of brown, scorched and parched earth, human settlements, wonder if they have McDonald's?

Our course then took us over Dolphin Sands.........

Finally, after about 28 hours after boarding at Hobart, we had the runway of Athens Airport in sight.

Just before touchdown, we could see the flower buds on the olive trees beneath the approach, happy to see we hadn't lost an engine!!

The flight, an everyday event, but so amazing. The world is so big, and so diverse. Now, time to let the old body clock catch up, we are both very tired. Stay tuned.
