Here we are at a fuel and coffee stop in a small place between Alicante and Granada called Chirivel. It's a dusty little place, with a distinctly western feel about it. The structure in the background is a bullring, just iron sheeting walls, and a couple of doors. Chirivel reminded me of the movie "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". I'll let you decide who the title refers to.
Next pic is of the snow capped Sierra Nevada, approaching Granada. The gps was indicating around 1000 metres elevation here.
Streetscape of Granada, with the colourful walls and balconies so typical.
We were lucky to see a pilgrimage in town. About a hundred of these mobile homes, mostly drawn by large tractors. Who needs an Avan?
I always find contrasts interesting...
The Cisco Kid and Pancho in town. Low emissions, green friendly
Here's the shrine, being drawn by two oxen. Many colourful costumes, and of course important dignitaries.
Typical small back street, crammed with shops, cafes, and restaurants. Very pleasant to stroll here.
