Hi from Lisboa. Whilst we have enjoyed our stay here, we agree that we probably wouldn't rush back. People are polite enough, but not overly friendly, and the transport is terrible. Long delays between buses or trams, so that when one turns up, it's hopelessly overcrowded. Functional, but not enjoyable. Plenty of top end cars in town, and the hotel desk staff all have iPhones, yep, I guess they are doing it tough. Prices are generally quite a bit more expensive than Spain, and the quality not as good.
Solar panels on the roadside, great to see. Plenty of wind turbines too. How do they all cope with that low frequency syndrome?
I'm not sure if these are Portuguese seagulls, or English pigeons on a fly-in holiday.
Bus 13, took a wrong turn at the Esplanade. People should be paid to risk their lives on this thing, it was rolling and pitching so much, I felt crook just watching it.
Lisbon tower.
Washing day, hope the pigeons are having a day off. Enough to give anyone the sheets!!
Just had to get out of town, too much noise and too many people, so we took a drive to Cabo da Roca, the most westerly landfall of Europe. It's about 9 degrees west longitude at this location. The great explorers would have had this as one of their last views of home as they set off across the Atlantic, what a thought.
Tomorrow, we are escaping this place, and going to Porto. I'm not sure what to expect, but it will be interesting. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit, I had my phone stolen from inside my pack, yesterday. We were in a very overcrowded bus, and although I was was wary, it was not enough. Puts a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. I've had to wipe the phone via iCloud, feels a very final thing to do. So, no texts to me for a while, it'll have to be email.

Typical shot of the a vintage tram, in a typical street setting.
Over the shoulder check!!
