Today we drove from Peniscola to Alicante. The second half of the journey took us across a mountain range, very similar to Peleponesssos in Greece, with white limestone stained with orange oxides, or something like that. I really enjoyed getting out of the crowded urban culture.
Here, the Explanada de Espana. Interesting effect of the patterned tiles, you could swear the surface was curved in places.
I liked the colours and reflections from the kitsch replica Galleon, used for dinner cruises.
Ahhh, so Spanish. I posted similar a couple of years back, but this image has it all; tiled street name, enclosed balcony, wrought iron street light, earthy colours
This one is for Zoe; we dined here, this chap's job was to slice the bacon, nothing else apart from pose for the mandatory photos. The bacon was excellent, not salty, good texture
One more for the foodies among you. Probably the best aubergine I've had outside my own house. Finely sliced, lightly battered with something delicate, non greasy, and a heavenly sauce. The wine was pretty good also, could almost drink the bottle dry. Tomorrow, off to Granada. Think we'll have to do a flamenco show there.

A pair of fine Spanish knockers, must weigh at least seven kilos each.
